1、 Introduction to Bluetooth antenna

Bluetooth antenna is a key component that affects the transmission characteristics of Bluetooth module. In various Bluetooth application products, the antenna design methods and materials used are also different. The selection of appropriate antenna can not only help to match the shape of the product and improve the transmission characteristics of the Bluetooth module, but also further reduce the cost of the whole Bluetooth module.

2、 Types of Bluetooth antenna

1. Dipole antenna

The appearance of the dipole antenna is usually cylindrical or sheet-shaped. There is an adapter at the bottom of the antenna as an energy feeding device, which is connected with the adapter of the external antenna of the Bluetooth module. Another antenna external connection method is to use a rotatable adapter. The advantage of this method is that the antenna can rotate at any angle according to the use requirements, so as to improve the transmission effect, but its disadvantage is that the cost of the rotatable connector is high.

2. PIFA antenna

PIFA antenna can reduce the sensitivity to the grounding metal surface in the module, so it is very suitable for the external antenna of Bluetooth module. Because the PIFA antenna only needs to use the metal conductor to cooperate with the appropriate feeding and the position where the antenna is short circuited to the ground, it has low manufacturing cost and can be directly welded with the PCB circuit board.

3. Ceramic antenna

Ceramic antenna is another miniaturized antenna suitable for Bluetooth devices. Ceramic antenna can be divided into block ceramic antenna and multilayer ceramic antenna. Using ceramic as antenna medium can effectively reduce the size of Bluetooth antenna.
