1、 What is the function of GPS antenna?

GPS antenna system is widely used in our life, which is inseparable from the important role of GPS antenna.

GPS antenna is used to capture satellite and receive satellite position information, that is, radiation and electromagnetic wave. High frequency circuit can radiate electromagnetic wave in surrounding space or receive electromagnetic wave in surrounding space unless it is completely shielded.

According to the difference of GPS antenna, it can be divided into plane antenna and spiral antenna. Spiral antenna has stronger star searching function.

GPS antenna converts the electromagnetic wave energy of satellite wireless signal into the current that can be absorbed and applied by the receiving electronic equipment, that is, energy conversion.

Generally, for special equipment or vehicle equipment, there is a certain distance between the equipment and the GPS receiving module. Therefore, in the actual environment, the connection of more than 1m may be disconnected.

However, the feeder has great loss to the signal, so only in this case can the active GPS antenna be selected.

2、 How to install GPS antenna?

1. The GPS antenna can be tightened with screws, and the GPS rod can be fixed on the wiring rack or on the wall with fasteners. If the GPS stick is not installed, the antenna support can be fixed directly to the wall.

2. When the GPS antenna is installed on the support, the bottom of the antenna is higher than the top of the fort or wall.

3. The GPS antenna shall be installed on the protection angle of lightning rod 45, and the mounting bracket and fixing bracket of GPS navigation antenna shall be well grounded.

4. When the installation of GPS antenna or LTE address sharing station requires LTE equipment from the same supplier, after the centralized deployment of BBU, the GPS synchronization signal can be used, and the splitter can also be directly installed to share the GPS synchronization signal.

5. Ensure that there are no high-power microwave transmitting antenna, high-voltage transmission cable, TV transmitting tower transmitting antenna and other electromagnetic interference sources around the GPS antenna.

The interference power shall not exceed - 90dbm. There is no high-power transmitter around the installation position, and there is no co frequency interference or strong electromagnetic interference.

6. The distance between GPS antenna and wifi antenna shall be more than 3m, and the antenna cannot be installed on the transmission port of the antenna.

7. GPS antenna cable shall be fixed with cable ties (black cable ties shall be used), the prefix direction shall be consistent, the spacing of cable ties shall be uniform, and all buckles shall be cut flat.

3、 What are the types of GPS antennas?

1. In terms of installation and deployment, GPS antenna is divided into built-in antenna and external antenna. Now GPS module is gradually miniaturized and integrated, so it is GPS module.

2. Most of the lines use built-in installation and deployment. At this time, the antenna should be plated on all metal devices and grounded inside the shell, far away from EMI interference sources such as CPU.

3. From the perspective of power supply mode, GPS antenna is divided into active antenna and passive antenna. The passive antenna has no low-noise amplifier and does not need power supply. The amplified GPS signal strength is weaker than the cable length of manual antenna, which is generally less than 1m.
